Supply chain management, closely correlated with logistics, allows firms to effectively cooperate with their partners, gaining collective competitive advantages in the changing markets. This paper begins with discussing the concepts of logistics and supply chain management, and their intrinsic relationships. It is argued that sophisticated coordination of material and information flows is the kernel of supply chain management. The operational coordination decisions on material flows mainly concern with inventory replenishments and transportation routing. The strategic decisions controlling material flows mainly concern with facility locations.Information flow management integrates business applications across both department borders and company boundaries.Dynamic alliances synchronize activities in many companies, strategically configuring material and information flows in the supply chain. This paper identifies the obstacles in managing the flows and further indicates the promising approaches to break through these obstacles.

The concept of processing unit is introduced in this paper to specify the resources in machining systems and then a model of job shop scheduling is developed in the environment of multi functional machine tools.Genetic algorithm is employed in the optimization of the scheduling model. After the optimization procedure by genetic algorithm,a dynamic dispatching process is followed among components, processing units and real machine tools to re optimize the results. At last, numerical experiments are conducted to show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.

In this paper, the benefits of passengers and transportation management departments are both considered and a bi-level programming model is presented in order to seek the optimal passenger-ticket price under the competition between different inter-city traffic modes. The lower-level problem represents an equilibrium model that describes passengers’ mode-choice behavior under the condition of multimodal transportation. The upper-level problem is to determine passenger-ticket price to maximize the revenue of transportation management departments while considering passengers’ mode-choice behavior.A heuristic algorithm for the bi-level problem is also proposed. Finally the applications of the model and its algorithm are illustrated with a practical example.

This paper analyzes optimal energy efficiency of the merger and acquisitions of industrial groups by introducing the views on the optimal ways in which animals search for food originally, bringing forward optimal strategy.First of all,the paper gives basic assumptions of models.Secondly,it sets up the models which discuss optimal strategy for merging an upstream firm and a downstream firm, respectively, and gives the sufficient conditions for increasing energy efficiency. Finally,it sets up the model which discusses horizontal mergers and gives the sufficient conditions for increasing energy efficiency and presents an example to illustrate how to make decision. The results of it can be applied to the merger and acquisitions of industrial groups in China.
